NAPD Instructor Rick Rocco -Hull Search

Diving for Security
“The two metal boxes were custom-made and welded to the inside of the bow thruster they were clearly out of place. Divers inspecting the hull were in awe of the workmanship, not to mention the contents: 200 pounds of pot. ‘Both (boxes) were together, one inside and one outside. They were packed with marijuana,’ said Lieutenant Rick Rocco, a diver and instructor for the Lauderhill Police Department in Florida. The boxes are still the stuff of legend among the dozens of police divers in South Florida who include hull inspection among their duties. ‘They did a great job on it,' said Officer Uri Tal, who works under Rocco, in grudging admiration. 'They did a professional job attaching it to that ship.'"
